Democracy

Democracy is a political system which has been practiced throughout the world for years. It is the system of governing the state by the people's representatives. It is the most popular political system in comparison to other political systems, i.e. communism, anarchism, etc. It is said that democracy was first practiced in England.

Democracy is regarded as the best form of the government as it consists of democratic norms, i.e. periodic elections, complete freedom, peace, justice, etc. Human rights can be properly cultivated in a democratic system.

 The government can't ignore the people's voice because if the government misuses the power and doesn't address the people's needs, voice, etc. It won't be elected in the next election. People can raise their voice from street to parliament. Each and every individual gets an equal opportunity to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. No discrimination is made to an individual in reference to race, power, religion, etc in a democratic system.

Though democracy is said to be the best form of the government, some drawbacks can be noticed in its application. It is said that money that is spent on elections hinders the pace of development. Sweet and abstract slogans sounded during the time of elections ultimately lead democracy to failure.

In conclusion, Democracy is the best political system ever practiced in the world. There is no room for violence, injustice and terrorism. Instead, there is peace, liberty, racial harmony, justice, etc. So, democracy should be in democratic substance, not only in form.
